Quality and Environmental Management Policy

BITUMIX ASPHALT MIXTURES S.A. is engaged in the production and trading of asphalt products. It has designed and implements an integrated Quality Management and Environmental Management System in accordance with the requirements of the international standards ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015, covering all of the company’s operations.

The Quality and Environmental Management System is a control factor that enables the company:

  • to produce products and provide services of consistent quality, meeting customer requirements,
  • to prevent environmental incidents,
  • to improve its environmental footprint,
  • to manage natural resources prudently,
  • to apply health and safety rules,
  • to continuously improve by monitoring the efficiency and effectiveness of its operation based on objectives and indicators,
  • to comply with the legal and regulatory requirements related to its operation,
  • to remain competitive.

The company’s Quality and Environmental Management Policy is summarized as follows:

  • Its products must meet customer requirements and expectations, either as agreed or as described in specific standards.
  • Product quality must be consistent and always in accordance with the company’s internal specifications, or the standards (Greek or international) stated on the products, or in the company’s or its suppliers’ information leaflets, or, finally, the specifications or standards agreed with the customer, and must also meet any other relevant institutional requirements.
  • Its products must be produced and offered at competitive prices.
  • The production methods applied and all company activities must be carried out in accordance with the existing institutional framework, respecting people, health and safety, and the environment, and placing emphasis on sustainability and energy management.
  • The company is committed to operating in a way that achieves high performance in quality, environmental and energy management, taking into account the best techno-economic options, while always ensuring the health and safety of its personnel as well as interested parties.
  • It is committed to complying with National and EU legislation on the environment, energy management, and health and safety, to the continuous improvement of the system, and to preventing potential cases of environmental pollution arising from its activities.
  • It is committed to preventing accidents and occupational diseases.
  • It is committed to analyzing and striving to meet the requirements of interested parties regarding quality, environment, energy management, and health & safety.
  • It is committed to responding promptly to requests and issues raised by its customers/partners.
  • It is committed to maintaining confidentiality and protecting personal data.
  • Striving to minimize and safely dispose of the waste produced at its facility.
  • Systematic identification, assessment, and control of all environmental aspects and impacts at the company’s facility.
  • Continuous improvement of the Quality and Environmental Management systems and the company’s operations.
  • Orders and contracts with customers will be fulfilled exactly as agreed.

The main pillars for implementing the Quality and Environmental Management Policy are:

  • Compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015, and the continual improvement and effectiveness of the systems.
  • Compliance with legislative and regulatory provisions related to the company’s activity.
  • Identification of potential risks and opportunities related to the company’s activities and taking measures for their prevention and management.
  • Identification of the requirements and associated needs of interested parties.
  • Continuous staff information and training.
  • Regular communication with customers and constructive cooperation with all partners.
  • Investigation of the causes of nonconformities or complaints from customers and other interested parties, and further determination of corrective actions.
  • Taking measures to minimize the environmental impact of the company’s operation and continually improve its environmental performance.
  • Taking measures to minimize the impact on the health and safety of personnel and continually improve relevant protective measures.
  • Selection of suppliers and partners based on criteria ensuring the supply of compliant products and services.
  • Establishment of measurable and realistic objectives for quality and the environment, and taking all necessary actions to achieve them.
  • Communication of the quality policy to all employees so that they are aware of their individual responsibilities.
  • Periodic review of the Quality and Environmental Management Policy.
  • The company provides the required resources for the implementation of the applied systems to achieve their purposes and objectives.
  • Each employee is responsible for the quality of their own work and is fully informed about the applied Quality Control and Environmental Protection systems, their responsibilities, and the objectives that have been set.
  • The company actively supports its personnel for their participation in the continual improvement of the effectiveness of the applied systems.

This policy has been communicated to all company personnel and is available upon request to interested parties.
