Plastomeric bituminous mastic
Bitumac
Bitumac is a plastomeric bituminous cold-applied mastic with modified bitumen, mineral fibres, special additives, and a small amount of organic solvents. The film formed after application and drying is resistant to dilute solutions of acids and bases, unaffected by soil salts, but vulnerable to organic solvents, oils, and strong chemical cleaners. It has thermoplastic properties and can accommodate the usual joint deformations caused by temperature contractions and expansions. It is compatible with polyurethane, concrete, metal, and wooden surfaces. It is not compatible with polystyrene due to the solvent’s presence.
Applications
Bitumac is used for sealing horizontal and vertical cracks or expansion joints on roofs, ceilings, walls, and buildings; for sealing critical points on concrete surfaces such as rain gutters, corners, metal bases, ventilation bases, and exposed reinforcement bars; and as a complementary sealing material on roofs in combination with bituminous waterproofing membranes.
Packaging and storage
Available in plastic containers of 5kg, 10kg and 20kg. Store in a covered area at temperatures above 5ºC for at least one year, away from ignition and heat sources.
